Midband Ethernet

The New Midband ... Speed with more reach.

Up until recently, companies that require extreme speeds, always-on data connectivity, carrier grade service levels and a high standard of contention ratio think FIBRE OPTIC.

While the Fibre Optic is currently the most scalable and delivers the highest standard of accessibility that money can buy, the midband is a great alternative if you are not ready for Fibre.

Midband Ethernet

Also know as Ethernet over Copper, Midband Ethernet is the service that bridges the gap between DSL and Fibre.

The Midband Ethernet is a symmetric service.

It is achieved by bonding multiple copper pairs into a single ethernet channel. It is capable of supporting speeds of up to 45Mbps through this channel.

Because data is delivered over bonded copper, it provides a high level of resiliency. This is because the failure of one copper pair does not take the connection out of service thereby causing a service outage.

Does midband suit our business?

We ask this question: DO YOU EXPERIENCE THE FOLLOWING SYMPTOMS AT WORK?

  • If your business has recently expanded and you have more staff using the Internet at work.
  • You have a growing reliance on the resiliency of your Internet connection.
  • If you are beginning to experience some frustration with your existing connection speeds.
  • If you are unhappy with the service levels that come with your existing connection.
Midband is affordable and is available to businesses (large and small) that require speed, resiliency and service quality.

It is available in speeds of 2Mbps through to 40Mbps.

As it is a business grade service, it also comes with a Service Level Guarantee (service guarantees in relation to response time, restore and rebate).
